The\u00a0 War up Close<\/span><\/a><\/span> \u00a0special project, agreed upon with the Kyiv City State Administration and the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service, is a painful evidence of destruction brought to Ukraine\u2019s capital city by Russia\u2019s full-scale military invasion of February 24, 2022. Discover and Kyivmaps have joined forces to document the consequences of air strikes on Kyiv and show the global community that the genocide of the Ukrainian nation is taking place right here, in the centre of Europe, in the 21st century.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another goal of the project is to schedule rebuilding and restoration of the city as well as to help the State Emergency Service with rescue operations in hard-to-reach areas.\u00a0 360\u00b0 virtual tours capture the consequences of destruction of Kyiv, thus helping future restoration of the capital, healing the infrastructural wounds inflicted by Russian shelling and missile attacks.<\/p>\n

What damages does the project capture?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kyiv has been and remains under attack since February 24. The War up Close project has contributed to capturing many damaged and destroyed apartment blocks and adjacent infrastructure in the following districts:<\/p>\n
